SomethIng old and something new for Thanksgiving dinner. Old World Nebbiolo for cold antipasto and New World Pinot Nor for the Turkey.
It's always rewarding to drink a wine in its prime after you have nurtured it for a long time in the cellar. Though this wine is a bit high in alcohol content for my taste (15+%), aging has balanced it.
My birthday weekend comes to an end with my favorite people in the cantina.
Six years ago my daughter and new son-in-law gifted this double magnum (four bottles equivalent) to thank us for their wedding. It has rested quietly in my cellar until its time, and tonight the family is all here for Nana's chicken parmigiana.
