Summer would not be complete without our family’s traditional clambake. Lobster, clams, mussels, shrimp, kielbasa, corn-on-cob, potatoes and diced onions savoring in white wine (Pinot Grigio).

Wine pairing with this seafood meal could be quite simple – any white wine! But this crowd (la mia famiglia) has strong bias for bold red wines (aka Cali Cabs) which will overpower this meal. I chose my favorite Dolcetto, a light body, dry wine from Piedmont region. Dolcetto comes from Alba, Asti and other Piedmont locales but the best is from Dogliani, small commune where Dolcetto is the only wine.
