One year ago, Easter Sunday 2018, was a cold, early spring day that curtailed our family Easter egg hunt Easter 2018. But Easter Sunday 2019, 3 weeks later than last year, was bright and sunny so we planned outdoor activities for our adult children, their spouses and 1 grandchild (20 months young). It’s been many years since we’ve had the Easter bunny but now there are grandchildren, and grandma was determined.

Soon, the hunt began. The adults watched as baby Mikaela quickly filled her basket with eggs lying on the lawn. When Easter bunny announced that hidden eggs contained money, the adults became interested. But it wasn’t until Easter bunny announced the “$50 bonus egg” that it became really interesting. Suddenly my daughter and her two brothers morphed 20 years younger, and the hunt became intensely competitive as their spouses watched in amazement! After exhausting all hints to locate hidden eggs, the big money egg was NOT found – maybe next year says the Easter bunny!
