I’m talking about that first sip of wine when you least expect it and suddenly it’s WOW! Unfortunately this experience doesn’t happen often but did you ever think about what makes a bottle of wine special? Is it the place, the people, the moment – or is the wine really that good?!?

It was an uneventful Wednesday dinner al fresco with my family. I grabbed this Spanish Rioja from my cellar excited that I had found a killer pairing with BBQ ribs. In my haste I neglected to check the bottle price (not my everyday budget) and my Wow experience began…
