I WANNA BE A WEATHERMAN IN MY NEXT LIFE!!! Today’s snowstorm has turned out to be a GIANT blunder for the meteorologists (better known as TV weather goons). By 10pm last night they were back-tracking on their original prediction for NJ of 18”-24” with 50mph winds (falling trees and loss of power). The “blizzard” has ended with snow accumulations of 6-8”and no loss of power. How about this quote on social media “At last count on Monday evening, 7 state governors had declared a state of emergency without as much as an inch of snow. I think all 7 are potential presidential candidates.”
This quiet day is an opportunity to blog about Paso Robles appellation (AVA). Paso (as it is known) is located in central California (San Luis Obispo County) about halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Paso, within the Central Coast AVA, has over 200 wineries today from only 20 wineries in 1990. Our Paso trip a few years ago included a stay in the quaint seaside village of Cambria and an interesting visit to Hearst Castle before touring local wineries. The highlights of our winery visits were Justin and Turley.
JUSTIN Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2006.
Paso Robles, California
I bought several bottles of this CAB reserve (price $40ish) and 2005 Justin Isosceles at the winery. I have waited patiently for these wines to age in my cellar but recently became concerned they might be past their drinking window. I am happy to say they are in their prime!
