Thenard Givry 1er Cru Cellier aux Moines is a beautiful red Burgundy from an excellent vintage and a great value for a premier cru. Domaine Baron Thenard, a highly regarded estate in France, has been bottling and selling wine under their own label for over a century, but it was never exported to the United States.

This wine received an 89-point rating from Wine Spectator. The wine is deep garnet red in color, medium-full in body, soft and velvety with silky tannins; a beautiful nose and palate of black cherries, raspberries and spice, with assertive tannins. The wine’s elegant finish shows off the depth, length and earthy minerality reserved for great Burgundy.Enjoy over the next 6-7 years with roast pork, grilled salmon, pasta, rich vegetable dishes, and aged cheeses.
