Stephen Tanzer rating 92 says “Bright purple. Heady aromas of blueberry, cherry compote, white pepper and woodsmoke plus an exotic cinnamon note. Fresh and seamless, offering vibrant blueberry and black raspberry flavors and suave floral notes. The spicy quality lingers seductively on the tenacious finish.”

I had not drank this Spanish Garnacha (Grenache) for several years but it recently came back into the store. It was as good as I remember – typical Grenache fruitiness, well balanced and medium body. Low yields from old vine vineyards produce an aromatic wine with flavors of blackberries, strawberries and hints of vanilla, plums and leather.
