Not acclaimed as the popular white wine Pinot Grigio from northern Italy, Greco di Tufo is a small production crisp dry white wine from Campania in southern Italy. The grapes, commonly called Greco, are clones of Greco Bianco (Greco means Greek) and Tufo is one of the villages in Avellino province of Campania that produces the wine.

Food Pairing: Greco di Tufo is a wonderful match for shellfish such as shrimp or clams, light pasta sauces and herb cheeses. A classic match for Neapolitans (residents of Naples) with this wine is the small, local clams from the Gulf of Napoli known as vongole.
If you like Pinot Grigio, you must try Greco di Tufo. The wine has a mineral complexion from the vineyards which grow in volcanic and clay soils around Mt Vesuvius. The wine is refreshing and crisp with aromas of lemons, pears, toasted almonds and a lingering mineral finish with no hints of wood or oak. Wines are best consumed within three years of bottling.
